Personal Reaction:  This book brings the reader to the heart of one of the Civil Rights Movement most tragic stories.  The background is researched and presented in a way that builds the tension and presents the prime players realistically.  This book would make a good dramatization for a history project.
Illustration: Photo essay utilizing news photographs and FBI files with quotes on collage style format help to depict the historic period.
Use of Media: The collage tear outs and old photos along with quotes from real persons involved from both sides and the newspaper headlines on the front and back pieces bring this story alive.
