Personal Reaction:  This book is a naturist’s dream. It is packed full of facts and information from the history of this bird to details of the island habitat.  Although lengthier than most picture books the fascinating text keeps the reader engrossed. Young environmentalist will be inspired and awed with the details that it takes to bring this bird back from near extinction.  This is an excellent book for science and environmental instruction.

Use of Media:  Vibrant color photographs enhance the text and aptly illustrate the work that is occurring on this island.
