Annotation:  Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton have a longstanding dislike of each other even though they are both public servants in the early days of democracy in the United States. The result of the feud is a deadly faceoff with guns.
Personal Reaction: I enjoyed learning the back story to this famous duel.  Many times in learning history one is told about the act or happening but not the background that leads up to the event.  In this case the story is as compelling as the actual deed.  There is back matter on the end of dueling as well as a bibliography and further readings.  History teachers will find this book a good book for discussing moments in history and the details that are lesser known.
Illustration:  The watercolor depictions make all the emotions discussed in the narrative life like and real.  The close up of the raised pistol in the front piece is riveting as is the tense build up in the final face off.
Use of Media: The watercolor drawings work well to illustrate the historical time period.
