Annotation: A future world is envisioned where knowledge is bad and books are burned by the fire department to control the people.  One firefighter begins to think differently than the government and finds a group of like-minded renegades.
Personal Reaction: I liked this adaptation mainly because it did not stray too far from the original and the illustrations were not harsh and angular as in some graphic novels.  I especially liked both the visual depiction of Montag’s mental shifting and his inner thoughts.  This is an excellent rendition for the classroom for today’s students.
Illustration: The muted colors against the black and shadows give the story an other worldly feel and help to set the tone of a world not quite right. The characters are not so futuristic that the novel seems like a fantasy or science fiction.
Use of Media:  The sharp contrasting hues between scenes like the fires and the rain set the mood and tenor of the action throughout this adaptation and make the story come alive for the reader.
