Personal Reaction: This book is packed full of information beyond just the sculptor’s name and immigrants talking about Liberty.  The actual facts are written in an engaging and interesting fashion.  There is extensive back matter with a timeline of events, Liberty’s dimensions, quotes from immigrants, author’s and illustrator’s notes and a bibliography.  This title would be useful for American History instruction.
Illustration: Each page and one half is filled with a full color depiction of the accompanying narrative.  Each picture brings either the particular person or the action to life.
Use of Media: The watercolor pictures help the reader to envision the time period or the person and the part they played into an historical perspective.
