Annotation:  This title is an endangered species alphabet.  Each page depicts one animal with the common name, scientific name and   an inset with basic information such as class, habitat, range and endangered status.
Personal Reaction: The author has created a stylized alphabet of endangered animals that is eye catching and also informative for readers of all ages.  The animals are rarer than the usual ones listed or seen at the zoo like the Bushman Hare or the Prairie Sphinx Moth.  Young environmentalists as well as animal lovers and scientists will fine this book enlightening and educational.  The back matter contains a short paragraph about each animal and websites for more information.
Illustration: The stylized graphics with each letter depicting the particular animal along with the simple color scheme of red or black on white give this book a look that is quite engaging.  The information is laid out simply with the letter in the center, the common name and scientific name in the upper corner and an inset with traits to the side. 
Use of Media: The author use of stylish and animated art sets this book apart from other books with the same information.
